Come along and join us at the vibrant African Street Style Festival!
Despite our gallery being currently closed to the public, things are buzzing at Calvert 22 offices, as we are working towards our future season and some fantastic events.
We are very excited to announce that we will be joining the local community and open our doors for this year’s edition of the African Street Style Festival. The annual street based free event will take over Calvert Avenue and Arnold Circus on Sunday 26 July, showcasing African creativity throughout the day.
As part of the festival, we will be screening five fantastic documentaries produced by The Calvert Journal’s friends, Stocktown Films, from their Afripedia project, a curated online platform dedicated to promoting the contemporary culture of Africa.
The Afripedia screenings will take place as follows:
Ghana – 1:00pm
South Africa – 2:00pm
Kenya – 3:00pm
Angola – 4:00pm
Senegal – 5:00pm
Each film runs for approximately 28 minutes and seating will be on a first come first serve basis and subject to capacity.
We hope you come along to watch these compelling stories told by African visionary artists who are pushing the boundaries of creative self-expressions. Entrance is free.
There will be soft drinks and delicious food provided by the fantastic Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen!
