Young Russia
Young Russia is an online space for free expression and experimentation for Russian creatives beyond their country’s borders, connecting them with audiences and other creatives worldwide. The series features radical digital art, thought provoking films, breathtaking photography, new music and more from the suburbs of Moscow through the barren landscapes of northern Siberia to the eastern Island of Sakhalin.
Young Russia wants to give a platform to an emerging generation of up-and-coming creatives and artists on the cusp of big things. It spans the breadth of the creative landscape of the largest nation in the world, from first class fashion to ground-breaking media, cutting-edge design to radical innovation. Young Russia is an insider’s window into largely creative but underrepresented work and a natural culmination of The Calvert Journal’s work as a magazine committed to give prominence to the current generation of people who are, in their own ways, revolutionising youth culture and how we see the world.
Calvert Curated
Curated is the definitive guide to the new generation of Russian visual artists. Part of our major ongoing project Young Russia, Curated is a unique catalogue of Russian contemporary artists brought to you by leading experts from the country and beyond.
We are working with the curators, artists, and art managers to find some of the interesting and innovative emerging artistic talent and to give them a platform. Published in English, Curated features profiles and images of Russian artists from across the spectrum, from esoteric digital artists to ecology-focused performance artists.
With regular updates, the list will grow into the ultimate index of all the new names you need to know in Russian visual art.
