Cinematographer and director Adam Palenta is a graduate of the Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia, the Academy of Fine Arts (now the University of Arts) in Poznań, and the Wajda School’s Dok Pro documentary film programme. He was awarded a Młoda Polska (Young Poland) scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2010, and has received numerous commendations and awards for his work, including the cinematography for the short feature Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark Room in 2009. Palenta’s directorial debut came in 2012 with Freestyle Life, produced by the Munk Studio under its First Documentary programme. The Erlprince, released in 2016, marks his full-length feature debut as a cinematographer.
