Calvert 22 Café Partnership Opportunity

Calvert 22 Café Partnership Opportunity
from May 2017

Are you a chef or food business interested in a partnership at our Shoreditch space? If so, please get in touch: [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a young or established food business to manage our café on a long-term basis, starting in May 2017 for ongoing development.

The tentative opening hours are Wednesday – Sunday,  12pm – 6pm, but we’re happy to consider mornings, evenings and additional days as a possibility. We ask that our café partner be flexible in accommodating our dynamic programme of events and exhibitions.

Food with a connection to eastern Europe or Russia would be a bonus, as would healthy offerings to match our clean, minimal aesthetic, though not necessary.

We’d ask a potential partner to supervise our bookshop during opening hours.

Who We Are

Calvert 22 Foundation is a not-for-profit institution celebrating the culture and creativity of the New East – eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia and Central Asia.

We’re located in east London on the stylish Calvert Avenue, just off Shoreditch High Street.

The Space

We have a two-floor exhibition space which includes a bookshop and the café within it.

We can currently accommodate around 25 covers, with plenty of space and flexibility for more tables and chairs.

We have a small kitchen, so while we can accomodate some cooking and food preparation, a simpler menu of coffees, sandwiches, baked goods and other bites is best suited to the space.

We don’t have an  alcohol license.

The Deal

We'll be asking for a reasonable monthly flat rate and 10% of sales in place of full rent. Get in touch to discuss the details!

We will be regularly promoting the partnership to our general audience through our marketing channels and celebrate it as a collaboration.

I absolutely love Calvert 22 Foundation's space. Having done several events there, I keep coming back. Both its location and super-helpful, pleasant-to-work-with staff make Calvert 22 an ideal place for hosting an event or food residency.

“Our goal of ‘introducing London to food from Eastern Europe and beyond’ aligned beautifully with Calvert 22 Foundation's mission, and visitors were keen to try our Russian dumplings and more exotic menu items.

The Calvert 22 team were extremely helpful and responsive in the lead-up as well as with the running of the event. Location itself is fantastic. We are keen to come back soon and look forward to future collaborations!”
